Diabetes is often called the silent killer because of its easy-to-miss symptoms like

    1. Excessive thirst and increased urination
    2. Excessive pangs of hunger
    3. Skin Problem  Itchy skin, perhaps the result of dry skin or poor circulation
    4. Fatigue and irritability
    5. Weight Loss
    6. Blurred vision

According to WHO (World Health Organization)

The number of people with diabetes, world-wide, in Year 2000 is 177 million. This will increase to at least 300 million by 2025.

The number of deaths attributed to diabetes was previously estimated at just over 800,000.

However, it has long been known that the number of deaths related to diabetes is considerably underestimated.

The figure is likely to be around 4 million deaths per year related to the presence of the disorder.

This is about 9% of the global total.

More than 80% of diabetes deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries.

WHO projects that diabetes will be the 7th leading cause of death in 2030.
